Nora Shabani is the Education Specialist/Disability Focal Point in the UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia Region since 2015. In this role, she leads and coordinates inclusive education agenda, as well as cross-sectoral programming for inclusion of children with disabilities across 22 countries. Inclusive education is one of the key UNICEF priorities in the region, and Nora works closely with the UNICEF country teams and the national stakeholders to address the barriers that marginalized children, particularly children with disabilities, face in realizing their right to education. She supports the implementation of innovative solutions and systemic approaches to overcome their segregation and exclusion. She has more than 25 years of working experience working also in Türkiye and North Macedonia. Nora holds a MA in Inclusive Special Education from University Roehampton, London, UK.
