Sofia Avgitidou (D.Phil. Sussex) is a Professor of Pedagogy and Teacher Education at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her main research interests concern teachers’ professional learning, participatory practices in education, inquiry and reflection in initial and in-service teacher education as well as democratic and inclusive practices in education. She has run and participated in various research and developmental programmes (https://voice.web.auth.gr/en) and has also worked extensively with (becoming and in-service) teachers as a teacher educator and facilitator of educational change. She has published books, edited volumes and articles in peer reviewed journals in the issues related to her research interests.
