Tanja Rankovic, Education Specialist and Head of Education Programme UNICEF Serbia, is leading programs and initiatives in education and early learning. Her efforts are dedicated to ensuring access to quality education and improving opportunities for all children, especially those from marginalized communities and refugee backgrounds.
With more than 20 years of experience, Tanja is a leader and manager, with experience in system-level education reforms. Tanja’s expertise lies in policy development, monitoring, and implementation, garnered from her work with NGOs, governments and UNICEF in various countries including Serbia, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Greece and Jordan.
For over a decade, she has led different UNICEF initiatives and initiatives aimed at improving early learning, fostering inclusion, enhancing education quality, preventing violence, promoting anti-discrimination, and preventing dropout.
Tanja holds a MA in Education Policy and she deepened her knowledge through the Equity, Quality, and Leadership Programme from the Harvard Graduate School of Education (USA).
