UNICEF Greece, in collaboration with Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and the Institute for Education Policy, is co-organizing an International Conference on Inclusive Education and Children’s Rights

About the Conference
The conference will feature plenary sessions, roundtable discussions and working groups covering diverse topics such as current policies and reforms, formal and non-formal quality education for all, children’s rights and inclusive curriculum. The key objectives include:
Taking

stock of the accumulated international and Greek experience to develop and implement inclusive-oriented educational reforms and programmes;

Identifying

existing barriers and best practices to strengthen a genuine inclusive education ecosystem, ensuring quality education for every child;

Presenting

international experiences related to quality, inclusive education and children’s rights, to facilitate cross-country learning and inform policymaking;

Proposing

evidence-based short-, medium- and long-term changes to contribute to the development of a roadmap for an equitable and inclusive system.

The conference aims to foster dynamic dialogues on challenges in inclusive education policies and programmes, bringing together policymakers, education experts, practitioners, and representatives from the academic community. The goal is to facilitate the sharing of experiences, best practices, and examples of effective inclusive education policies, programmes, practices, and research, with a focus on diverse international perspectives.

Stella Bratimou is a PhD student of sociolinguistics at the Department of “Language and Intercultural Studies”, University of Thessaly, Greece.
Butchukhisvili Mamuli
Mamuli Buchukhishvili, professor, graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Kutaisi Pedagogical Institute. He defended his doctorate degree at Tbilisi State University, specializing in mathematics teaching methods.
Chantzouli Helen
Helen Chantzouli has been an educator for 25 years both in public and private sector in general and special education in Greece. She holds two masters and a PhD in the field of special needs education.

She has an over 20 years’ teaching experience working in primary schools in Cyprus and in Greece.
